In an effort to consolidate their Maternal Fetal Medicine department, whose steady growth had resulted in numerous satellite outlets within the hospital complex, Yale-New Haven Hospital decided to combine the various locations to a single building at Long Wharf. The Yale High-Risk Pregnancy Program provides ongoing care and management for women with a history of pregnancy risks or current medical complication. The Yale Fetal Cardiovascular Center is the most experienced and active diagnostic and treatment service of its kind in New England. The new facility contains twelve ultrasound rooms, six exam rooms, six non-stress testing rooms and various administrative areas.
In conjunction with the MFM initiative, the existing Pediatric Specialties department located on the same floor within the building was renovated with a new reception area, exam rooms and administrative offices. The renovated facility also features pediatric diagnostic imaging including ultrasound, x-ray and fluoroscopy, phlebotomy function tests, rehabilitation and supportive care service.
