Stonington Institute is the longest continuously operating, free-standing, voluntary treatment facility in New England. Stonington has established itself as an innovative leader in the field of behavioral health treatment.
In response to the growing demand for care needs, Stonington Institute offers residential detoxification, ambulatory detoxification, chemical maintenance, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, early recovery group therapy, and an evening intensive outpatient program.
The two-story renovation project includes the creation of a 4 bed psychiatric hospital within their existing structure. New anti-ligature semi-private and private residence rooms, toilets and showers, are designed along with medical rooms, and clean and soiled utility rooms. Staff offices, visitor’s room and nourishment area are located on the upper floor of the facility.
