The new Regional Hospice and Home Care in Danbury is the state’s first and only
nonprofit, all-private suite, family focused hospice center.
Sited on 6 acres of wooded property the building is designed to be residential rather
than institutional in character. The 2-story 35,000 square foot building features 12
private patient suites with balconies, each with views of the gardens and grounds.
The facility also contains the Healing Hearts Center which provides grief support
services to the community, including children who have lost parents or loved ones.
The memorial garden includes a custom-designed play structure for outside activities
for children. Other Center amenities include two large meeting rooms, a chapel,
library, spa and a centrally located common lounge and family kitchen with fireplaces. A
commercial kitchen supports on-site food preparation for patients and staff
members. The second floor of the facility houses administrative functions and private
offices. More than 1000 patients are expected to come to the new facility in the first
year of operation from a 50-mile radius, including Connecticut and New York.
